Basic Information | |

Location | New York, Rockland County |
Founded | During the Witch trials |
Status | Town and nexus |
Motto | "Let Greendale cast a spell on you" |
Greendale is the neighboring town to Riverdale. The Sweetwater River is what separated the two towns from one another. This town is filled with it's own kind of darkness, as it is close to Hell and the home of witches, demons and other creatures. Greendale is also the place where Lucifer (also known as the Dark Lord) landed in the Mortal Realm after he was banished from Heaven. Due to this event, Greendale became a Nexus. This means it's the one place in the Mortal Realm that's heavily linked up and connected to Hell.
Witches in Greendale
Witches came from all over the world to settle down in Greendale. They were trying to escape their presecutions in Europe and Salem this way. At first they lived in the hills and in the Greendale Woods. After the witch trials of Salem in 1692, the witches of the town were scared of a witch hunt taking place in Greendale as well. Mortals even began to arrest people who were suspected of being a witch. The Greendale Thirteen were some of those suspected witches. They weren't only arrested, but also tortured and hanged. Their own coven did nothing, in the hope they themselves, could escape this horror. Since then, the remaining witches of the Church of Night live in Greendale, hiding amongst the mortals.
