Located in Gehenna Station in Greendale, the academy of unseen arts is a boarding school centered around teaching witches and warlocks. In its early years, the school taught only satanic witches, however following the conversion of the church of night to the order of hecate, the school became that of the triple goddess.
Rules and curriculum
Familiars are not allowed at the Academy. According to Zelda Spellman anyone who brings one are ‘babies’ or ‘ninnies’. Bringing your familiar is seen as a sign of weakness and anyone who brings theirs is bullied by the other students. An example of a student bullied for bringing their familiar is Hilda Spellman, who was bullied by the other students, among them her sister, Zelda.
"Why is it that bullies always hide behind masks?"
— Hilda Spellman
The curriculum of the school is demanding. Lectures are separated into difficulty and aptitude levels. The classes available include Latin and Herbalism, which can be taken as majors. Once the general requirements for students to fulfill are fulfilled, other classes such as Conjuring can be taken. However, the general requirements are not explained. Whether a student is ready is determined with tests.
Constructing the school
During construction, the principles of Sacred geometry were heavily considered. As such, each room was built to be a perfectly proportioned pentagon locked with the one next to it. It was built to have a library for advanced students, called the Sanctorum. Inside this library, the journals of Edward Spellman are kept under lock and key.

The foyer was built to have a statue of the dark lord in the very center of it. However this statue was later destroyed by witch hunters. After this occurred, Faustus Blackwood replaced it with a statue of himself, later decapitated by Prudence.
The dorms of the school were built to be separated by gender whilst staff and faculty have their own rooms and offices along with their own personal accommodations. Also built into the school is a dungeon, where warlocks and witches deemed guilty await their punishment. This prison is also used for the Harrowing, a hazing ritual all freshmen are subjected to.
