Hilda Spellman is one of Sabrina's aunts. You'll meet her in both Sabrina the Teenage Witch as well as the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

As a cover for being a witch, she runs the Spellman Mortuary with her sister, Zelda Spellman. This business is located at their home.

History

The day Hilda turned 16, she wrote her name in the Book of the Beast and joined the Academy of Unseen Arts. Her years at school were not as bright as they were for everyone else. While she was at the academy, her sister Zelda was there as well, forcing her to undergo a lot of hazing rituals called the Harrowing. This was a tradition that was done at the academy to torment younger witches so that they would endure the exact same thing as the Greendale Thirteen.

Something many people don't know is that Hilda moved to England for a while to take care of Ambrose, which caused her to adopt the accent from there. She has never let go of it since, which means that she still has an English accent to this day. When Sabrina was born, she helped Diana Spellman take Sabrina to her baptism at the Holy Mother Church in Greendale. This was something they didn't tell Edward Spellman, Hilda and Zelda's brother.

Since she has lived with her sister almost her entire life, she has had to put up with a lot. She was sometimes killed by her sister for various reasons, and she was then resurrected by having her body placed in the Cain Pit. When Diana and Edward died, Hilda and Zelda took over responsibility for Sabrina, and they became her guardians.

Personality

We came to know Hilda as a very sweet and kind person. She has always been very understanding when it comes to Sabrina, which Zelda has not really been over the years. She usually uses cute nicknames for those she talks to, which makes you see her as a caring person.

Although you may only see her as such, she isn't one to hold back when it comes to giving back. This is something that comes from what Zelda exposed her to when she was younger. This has made her be a real rebel when she wants to be.

Something that's very noticeable is that she cares about her family. When Sabrina has come to her with questions, she has always been there to listen and give advice. This also applies to people she may not have met before. In addition, she has always been there for Zelda when she has needed her, even if they do not always agree on everything.

Powers

Hilda has a lot of knowledge when it comes to witchcraft. She specializes in kitchen magick and can cook anything with magical or supernatural properties. This means that she has a lot of knowledge about herbs, medicinal plants, and she also knows a lot of cures for curses.

Another special interest that she has is poppet puppetry. This is something she has used a number of times before, but which she herself does not recommend people use. Potions are something she is very knowledgeable in, which means that it is usually her who is asked if help in that specific department is needed.
