The Eldritch Terrors are 8 ancient entities. They are inhuman, world-destroying and immortal. They are; The Darkness, The Weird, The Uninvited, The Returned, The Perverse, The Cosmic, The Void and The Endless. The Dark Lord says the Eldritch Terrors can not be killed, so they are unkillable, and they are horror incarnate. They have the power to tear through all the realms. The Eldritch Terrors are now inactive, but they have been active in the past.
The Void
The first time a sign of the Eldritch Terror was seen in the past, was by Harvey Kinkle. In his quarters at the Arkham Colony of the Arts, his roommate Howard, created demonic inspired paintings. Howard told him, he was visited by ‘Harbingers of the Void’ and that his closet was a portal to the Underworld. He paints the demons in the hope he can bind them.
One night, Harvey sees a blue light emerging from the closet of his roommate, while his roommate is painting. The next day, Howard is dead and the closet has just clothes in it. When he wants to leave that night, he finds out that the closet is indeed a portal. This all happens after Harvey went to a fortune-teller who showed him a possible future.
Old Gods
When Prudence and Ambrose track Faustus Blackwood to the shores of Loch Ness, they see them call upon the Watery Guardians of the West. The Deep One rises from the water and gives Faustus Blackwood a big, transparent egg. Even when Faustus offers the Deep One two sacrifices as payment, he eventually kills the Deep One before Prudence and Ambrose are able to react. Ambrose grabs the egg and he threatens to destroy it. Faustus begs for him to not do it. He spent 15 years inside a temporal church for this, while for Prudence and Ambrose it was only a month.
Faustus Blackwood claims that, with the Dark Lord dethroned, the Old Ones will reclaim the Earth and after them, the Eldritch Terrors will come. Eventually they were able to knock Faustus out so they could trap him in the dungeons of the academy. When he is stuck there he takes the opportunity to renounce the Dark Lord and claims that he found the Old Gods. With the Old Gods he means the Eldritch Terrors.
Summoning the Eldritch Terrors
At a later time, in the Greendale Woods, Faustus together with Judas, Agatha and Judith performs a ritual. He calls upon the Eldritch Terrors, in the name of the Void. To complete the ritual, Faustus stabs into the Time Egg with a dagger. An ear-piercing shriek is heard, which makes them all fall to the ground. When they get back on their feet, the creature inside the egg is gone. Faustus says that this is the beginning of the end, the end of the Spellmans and the end of all things.
Arrival of the Eldritch Terrors
The Eldritch Terrors arrive one by one in Greendale. First the Darkness, which absorbs all the light from the town. He creates despair and absolute darkness. After him the Uninvited arrives, which tears the hearts from the chests of the inhospitable. Then the Weird arrives. He merges, as a parasite, with the consciousness of Sabrina Spellman to subdue the town and the world eventually. His intention, to make them nourishment for the Void.
Faustus Blackwood then uses the Imp of the next Eldritch Terror, the Perverse. He warps reality to create a world where he is emperor of a dull and dictatorial world. Eventually all of them are defeated by Sabrina and her friends. When Sabrina Morningstar causes time distortions due to the time paradox, The Cosmic takes advantage to collide Earth and Hell, causing Heaven to meddle. With this they are forced to make a hard decision. One of the Sabrina’s must die.
However, they came with another plan and send Morningstar to a parallel Universe. Thanks to all the imbalance, the Returned unleashes the dead in Greendale. For example Edward Spellman or Mrs. Kosgrove. Eventually Mambo Marie restores the other with a little help from Lilith. While Sabrina Morningstar is trapped in the Rogue Cosmos she was sent to, she becomes a victim of the Endless. She is in a time loop.
Once Morningstar returns to the Mortal Realm so that she could warn her twin, Sabrina Spellman, her twin uses Pandora’s Box to trap the defeated Eldritch Terrors. To save her loved ones and face the Void, Sabrina Spellman bleeds to death at the Mountains of Madness.
