In the series finale, Sabrina searches for a way to stop the Void, the final and most powerful of all the Eldritch Terrors. She gets Pandora's Box from the Trinket Man in exchange for the Imp of the Perverse. However, he warns her that the box has to be opened from inside the Void. And, doing this might trap her as well.
Entering the Void
Sabrina enters the Void and opens the box, which begins sucking the Void inside. Her soul is then sent to Sabrina Morningstar's body. Her original body is left behind with the box. A little fragment of the Void stays in Morningstar's body, and this forces Sabrina to sacrifice herself to save her friends.
Ambrose, Harvey, and Nick enter the Void to rescue those who are trapped inside. Nick Scratch eventually uses Pandora's Box to trap the Void, the Weird, the Uninvited, and the Darkness.

Importance
Pandora's Box is the only artifact on the show that is able to contain such a cosmic-level threat. It's the final weapon against the Eldritch Terrors, but its use, unfortunately, leads to Sabrina's death.
"There’s no fixing it, Sabrina. You’ve opened Pandora’s Box.”
— Hilda Spellman
The Myth of Pandora's Box
In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman to be created by the gods. She was given a jar and told not to open it. The reason we call it Pandora's "box" is due to a mistranslation.
Pandora wasn't able to stand her curiosity and opened the jar. After she did this, all the evil, sorrow, and diseases that would plague the world escaped to the human world. Realizing her mistake, she closed it quickly, but only Hope was captured inside. That is why even in the face of suffering, it is still possible to be hopeful.

- Even though the "box" was a jar or urn in mythology, it looks more like an actual box in the episode where it features.
