Inside out

Inside out: Eleanore Grimsbane

Hello Everyone, here I am again with another inside out. Today I bring you one of the Grimsbane sisters to tell her story about her character, I give you Eleanore!

Eleanore Grimsbane

Elle is this perky kind of girl who always tries to see the good and positive in things. She is a version of myself that I want to be but sometimes struggle to be IRL. Given her nickname, Elle is also a bit based on Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, the perky, rich, happy blonde girl that surprises everyone with her cleverness. That is basically what Elle is, but than as a half-witch.

Elle’s background isn’t one of the happiest. She grew up with one of her sisters and their mother, mostly traveling around and never really settling down. The reason was unknown for a long time for the girls, but things started to make more sense when Eleanore found out that her sisters’ father wasn’t her own father. She wasn’t a real Grimsbane, but her father was a human named Beau Langston.

The fact that she was only half-witch and half-human was a real struggle for Eleanore and for a long time she had no idea who she was. Personally, I think that these moments are some of the most important moments in your life. IRL, I sometimes feel lost as well, which makes me related to Elle in such a deep way. The real strength is to stay positive and optimistic throughout all of it and that is what Eleanore is all about. Her life turned upside down at her sixteenth birthday, but in the end she got back on her feet and moved on.

Half-witch / half-human

Elle’s first reaction when she found out the truth was running away, something that she did do half a year later. I think that this is a natural reaction when something happens and running away isn’t that bad. Sometimes you simply need time to process what happened and if being away from that situation helps, than running away can be the solution. It was for Eleanore and I think that this trip made her flip the switch, with a little help of Carlisle.

Carlisle made Eleanore see the other side and question herself. He indirectly made sure she went home and became a completely different person. Once she was home, Elle became the sweet happy girl that she now is and was meant to be. Sometimes you just can’t do it on your own and in those cases it is nice if you have someone to help you out a bit. Accepting help might not be easy, but it can really help you move forward and having someone that you know will always be there, like Carlisle will always be there for Eleanore, makes your life a much happier place. Even if it is just a friend or a relative, being able to be yourself around someone can give you a lot of freedom and happiness.

The biggest difference between Ana (the girl behind the screen) and Eleanore is that Eleanore has accepted her past and is moving forwards. She focuses on the future and tries not to look back. The only thing she wants to do is meet her biological father one day to be able to include him in her future if he wants to. IRL, letting go of the past is a little more difficult. But Elle is paving the way and by being her and having her acceptance, it becomes easier for myself to let go IRL as well.
