Ingredients for the cookies:

➸ 1 cup soft unsalted butter

➸ 1 cup granulated sugar

➸ 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

➸ 1 large egg

➸ 2 ½ cup all-purpose flour

➸ ¾ teaspoon baking powder

➸ ¾ teaspoon salt

Ingredients for the frosting:

➸ 3 cups powdered sifted sugar

➸ 3-4 tablespoons milk

➸ 2 tablespoons light corn syrup

➸ ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

➸ Gel food coloring

➸ Sprinkles for the top if you want

Instructions:

Combine butter together with sugar in a bowl. Beat until creamy and well-combined

Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until combined

In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.

A little at a time, add the dry ingredients into the butter mix. Mix so that you can see that it’s smooth

Lay out a large piece of plastic wrap and transfer half of the dough onto it. Do the same with the other half of it

Cover the dough with clear wrap and mold the dough into a flat disk. Wrap it tightly. Place both of them into the refrigerator and let it chill for 2-3 hours

Preheat the oven to 350F and like a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set this aside

Dust a clean area with flour and place one of the cookie dough disks onto it. Flour the dough lightly and roll until it’s thin enough. If you want crispier ones, do it thinner

Use cookie cutters of the shape you want and transfer to the baking sheet

Bake for 8-10 minutes and before you start to icing them, let them cool down so that it doesn’t melt

Start with the icing! Combine the powdered sugar, the milk, corn syrup and vanilla extract. If it’s too thick, add more milk into it

If you want to have different colors on it, divide the icing into different bowls and add some food coloring

Transfer the icing into a piping bag with a piping tip

Pipe the frosting onto the cookies and if you want, add some sprinkles!

We hope that you're gonna test this recipe and don't forget to tell us what you thought about it! That's all for this time, but don't forget to check back in next week for a new recipe!
