Harvey Kinkle- Prince Charming of Greendale

Sweet, shy, sensitive and charismatic are the words often used to describe Harvey Kinkle. Your regular boy next door who is a romantic at heart and absolutely makes for the best boyfriend material around. All of which are the reasons why he was Sabrina Spellman's boyfriend.

He is certainly portrayed as the Prince Charming in Sabrina but did you know behind those dark brown eyes he held many secrets and a darkness which he struggled to cope with?

Who is Harvey Kinkle?

Harvey is the youngest son of the Kinkles, his mother passed away when he was only five years old and so he was raised by his father and older brother. He did not have a good relationship with his father at all and it was a rather toxic environment for him growing up in. However, he had an amazing relationship with his older brother Tommy who had stayed home instead of attending college to look after him and protect him from their father.

His father was the owner of the Greendale Mines and it was passed down in the family for generations and something that he hoped to pass down to his sons. Neither of the boys were particularly interested in owning the mines, plus they were both forced to work in them.

Something that Harvey hated more than anything.

Harvey Kinkle was very gifted when it came to drawing and it was much more the type of thing he enjoyed than the dusty old mines.

Harvey is around the same age as Sabrina when he first appears in CAOS and was deeply in love and devoted to Sabrina.

Mine encounter

When Harvey was a child he was playing hide and seek with his older brother and decided to hide within the Greendale Mines. It had been a great hiding spot but came with a price.

It was here that Harvey KInkle had an encounter with the Dark Lord and it absolutely traumatized him for the rest of his life. Something he never really ever truly got over and the reason why he hated the mines so much.

Sabrina and Harvey

When Harvey Kinkle met Sabrina Spellman for the first time he fell in love with her almost immediately. He adored her and was one of the best boyfriends anyone could ask for towards her. Just before her 16th Birthday he bought her a necklace and he was always someone that Sabrina came to for advice on things and they had many public displays of affection throughout the time they were dating.

Sabrina told Harvey that she was a witch but due to his reaction she ended up wiping his memory to make him forget that she had told him anything. From there on their relationship slowly starts to break apart as Harvey cannot deal with the secrets and the lies that Sabrina tells him. When Harvey’s brother dies, Sabrina tries to make things right by bringing him back to life, this only makes things so much worse and they eventually break up.

It is clear throughout the series that Sabrina still has deep feelings for Harvey and the same can also be said about Harvey’s feelings for Sabrina, especially when Harvey starts dating Rosalind and she is turned to stone. He is still in love with Sabrina and so his effort to bring her back to normal does not work as he has to give up his love for Rosalind in order to bring her back.

Regardless of Sabrina and Harvey breaking up they still remained very close friends and he comes to help her whenever she needs it and still offers her some words of advice.

6. Harvey was willing to give up his dreams of leaving Greendale and becoming an artist when he thought his Girlfriend was going to be blind.
