Lucy Davis- From the Office to Greendale

Many of the actors from the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina have had fairly impressive acting careers, the same can be said about the next star we will be looking at today.

Lucy Davis. Dear Aunt Hilda in Sabrina but, did you know that Lucy is more famously known for another role she played in a rather popular series? Read on to find out more about this impressive lady.

Looking behind the Camera

Lucy Davis was born on the 17th February 1973 in England to Hazel Jackson and Robert Davis. Her father was a comedian and is better known by his stage name Jasper Carrott. Through her father Lucy made an on screen appearance in the show The Detectives.

However it hasn't always been an easy road for Lucy Davis and she actually went into Kidney failure in 1997, her mother was able to donate a kidney to Lucy to help her recover.

In 2006 Lucy Davis married Owain Yeoman, a Welsh Actor in St. Paul's Cathedral . The two were together for five years before they eventually separated and divorced in 2011.

Lucy is also a bit of an animal activist and posed for the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals Campaign in 2007.

When the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina came around Lucy was cast for the role as Hilda Spellman as the show ran its course from 2018-2020 and she played the role absolutely perfectly.

Aunt Hilda is known for being the ‘lesser, less intelligent’ one of the Spellman sisters, she is known to be bubbly, mumsy and has an amazing gift in Potions and she really wants the best possible future for Sabrina , regardless of how much it makes her and Zelda bump heads.

Hilda even went against the Church of Night just after Sabrina was born and was a witness to a Christian baptism for Sabrina when she was a baby, as per her birth mothers wishes. This actually saved Sabrina from a humiliating trial when she was accused of breaching a contract with the Dark Lord since her Father, Edward Spellman had already signed Sabrina’s name in the Book of the Beast. Luckily for Sabrina, the Christian Baptism had taken place just before her name was signed in the Book. Thanks to Hilda, Sabrina was free to live her life as Half Mortal and Half Witch.

Aunt Hilda didn’t get half the credit that she was deserving of when it came to protecting Sabrina and trying to keep the peace with her sister, all of which Lucy Davis portrayed beautifully in the series.

Impressive Filmography

As mentioned earlier Lucy has a very impressive filmography and has appeared in many things and is best known for her role in The Office as Dawn Tinsley. However her rise to fame did not begin there and she started acting in 1993 alongside her father in an episode of The Detectives.

Lucy Davis has appeared in a very wide range of TV shows such as Pride and Prejudice 1995 as Maria Lucas. She has appeared in Casualty, The Bill, Holby City, Ugly Betty, One Foot in the Grave, The Mentalist, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Family Guy.

Not only has she appeared in TV shows but she has also been in a few movies as well like Shaun of the Dead, Garfield and even Wonder Woman as Etta Candy.

Where is Lucy Davis now?

Lucy Davis is still active in her acting roles and currently playing the lead role as Eva/Surge on the Disney show. The Villains of Valley View which premiered in 2022.
