Jaz Sinclair: A Star in the Making
With an acting career that spans at least a decade as well as aspirations in music, Jaz Sinclair is no stranger to the American entertainment industry. Yet, chances are you might not have heard of her outside of her casting as Roz in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. So what exactly led up to her landing this signature role and where is she now?
An Early Start
Born as Jasmine Sinclair on July 22, 1994, like the character she was picked to portray on our beloved Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, she prefers to go by a much shorter nickname. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, she has an African-American father and an Italian, Irish and Swedish mother. While not much is known about her life prior to landing her first acting role, it is safe to say that she'd describe herself as a 'huge nerd'.
Her love for magic and the Harry Potter fandom in particular, is what made landing her role as Roz on the hit Netflix show a life-long dream come true. After all, whoever loves magic, can't really say no to playing the role of a witch, right?
Jaz Sinclair as an Actress
Starting her acting career in 2009 as a part of a short movie by the name of 'Into Dust', it took a little while for Jaz to make it onto bigger projects. After more shorts like 'A Race Against Time: The Sharla Butler Story' and 'Ordained' she ended up landing an acting gig as a part of the documentary 'Masterclass'. Although one could argue this wasn't truly an acting experience. For she portrayed herself as an aspiring artist who worked with a rather famous mentor.
Her true debut onto a bigger screen came in 2014 when she appeared in 'Revolution' for one episode, which was quickly followed by a somewhat bigger role on 'Rizzoli & Isles'. A few movies later and she landed her role as Beatrice Bennet on the popular show 'The Vampire Diaries'.
Chilling Adventurs of Sabrina
Jaz Sinclair's biggest break into the acting world however, definitely came with the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Her role as Rosalind 'Roz' Walker fit her like a glove and lasted for a grand total of 36 episodes. During these, we can see her go from being a fairly regular girl who ends up getting dragged into the magical escapades of her close friend Sabrina, all the way to becoming a witch herself.
Her portrayal of Roz was immaculate as Jaz truly managed to bring the character to life. Her excitement over playing such a prominent role in the CAOS universe and Roz eventually turning out to be a witch, only further fueling this.

Those who know the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, are fully aware of the importance of Roz to the show. Not only is she Sabrina's best friend, she also shows that with hard work, everything will eventually be alright. Doesn't matter if you're cursed and blind as a result of it or not. Like many other characters on the show Jaz's Roz is all about being a women embracing her power and using it for all the right reasons. Setting a great example for women like her all over the world-- with or without magical powers!
Where is she now?
With Chilling Adventures of Sabrina coming to an end, Jaz Sinclair hasn't stopped her acting career. Quite the opposite as she would go on to appear in music videos, movies, shorts and most recently the TV series 'Gen V' where she portrays Marie Moreau. On top of that, she's been tinkering on her very own career in music since 2020. Under the stage name Jasimi, she's released her EP 'Bought Myself Daisies' in 2021 and has been releasing more songs since.
