Tati Gabrielle: A Quick Rise To Fame

Definitely not an unfamiliar face to anyone who's been watching movies and tv shows throughout the past several years, Tati Gabrielle isn't just known for her role of Prudence in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. From 'The 100' to 'You' and from 'Uncharted' to the upcoming 'The Last of Us'. Let us take a deep dive into this amazing actress!

Early Life

Born on January 25, 1996 as Tatiana Gabrielle Hobson, it was clear what she wanted to do from an early age onward. Taking on the role of Lemony Snicket at only 8 years old in a middle school production of 'A Series of Unfortunate Events', it wasn't odd she auditioned and got accepted into a theatre program around the same age. This was at the Oakland School for the Arts and during her time there, she did not just perform, but directed a lot of productions as well.

Needless to say, those productions won her several awards and eventually graduated to move to Atlanta to attend Spelman College. Taking that name into consideration, it's almost as if it was foreshadowing at least one of her future roles, huh?

From Theater to Film

Shortly after her graduation from Spelman College, Tati starred in her first short film by the name 'To Stay the Sword'. Only a year later, this was followed by the 2015 short, 'Tatterdemalion.'' Then in 2016, she made her television debut as Monique in 'Just Jenna'. All of these are credited to her birth name of Tatiana Hobson.

It wasn't until later in 2016 where she had roles in 'K.C. Undercover' and 'The Thundermans' that she changed it to what we now know her as: Tati Gabrielle.

Making it Big

Just in time for what would arguably become the period during which her name got out more. After all, in 2017 she landed her roles as Gaia in 'The 100', Birdie in 'Freakish' and provided voices for 'The Emoji Movie' and 'Tarantula'.

The year after, Tati Gabrielle would end up being cast as what would arguably (for us anyways) become her best known role. Because yes, in 2018, it was revealed she was cast as none other than Prudence Blackwood in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Due to this being an ongoing project, it wasn't until 2020 that Tati ended up taking on different roles. This time, she appeared in the third season of 'You' in which she portrayed Marienne Bellamy. Two years later, she appeared in 'Uncharted', which was closely followed by appearances in 'Kaleidoscope', 'Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham' and 'The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat'.

There are many interesting characters to be found in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Prudence is, without a doubt, one of them. Not only is she someone who changes and shows a tremendous amount of growth throughout the show, Tati's acting skills, launch her to a whole other level.

Where at the very beginning of the show she's shown as this cold, calculative and at times absolutely evil and cunning witch who has it out for Sabrina, she eventually shows that this is not all there is to her. Not only does she, at times, align herself with someone she 'truly despises' for the sake of the greater good, she also has at least some sort of (at times questionable) moral compass.

Something that is portrayed incredibly well by Tati Gabrielle, who did such an amazing job. We really couldn't see the character be portrayed by anyone else! As for her future endeavors, those may include some rather well known titles as well. So make sure to keep an eye out for 'The Last of Us' and 'Mortal Kombat 2'.
