The Judas Society: Societies in the Coven

There are many different groups within the show, one of which is known as The Judas Society. It is an extremist faction that was within the Church of Night. The leader of the group before it got disbanded was Faustus Blackwood.

The Beginning: The Judas Society

Once Faustus became the High Priest of the Church of Night due to the death of Edward Spellman, he brought a group within the Church. It is known as The Judas Society. He wanted to take the Church of Night and the Churches of Darkness back to the old days. The ones that he himself cherished. The rules that were formed for the group became known as The five facets of Judas.

The members of the group were all hand picked by Father Blackwood, and they were basically the hitmen, enforcers, bodyguards or whatever was needed of them. Father Blackwood ended up breaking with the Churches of Darkness and former the Church of Night into the Judas Society, renaming them into the Church of Judas. They began enforcing the five facets of Judas on their followers. This happened until Father Blackwood poison led them and ran off.

The Five Facets of Judas

The rules in which Father Blackwood were enforcing are as follows:
1. The Sons of Satan are the heirs of the Earth. Take what thou wilt, as is your right, by fire, blood, or deceit.
2. Mortals are the swine of the Earth. We must not lay with them.
3. The Sons of Satan are the swineherds of man.
4. As Lilith served Satan, so must witches serve warlocks.
5. Warlocks shall claim dominion in the Church of Night just as their Father rules over Hell.

Faustus Blackwood, the founder of The Judas Society, was cold, calculating, and believed very much in staying with the old ways. Meaning that he believed that women should bow to their husband's demands. That women should not have a say in anything within the Church as well. Thus the reason he implemented the rules that he made for the Judas Society. He also brought back the old and barbaric ways of the Church of Night that Edward Spellman refused to do. Faustus hand picked each and every mememer that was a part of The Society of Judas, of course all of them were a part of the Church of Night.

The Messiah as Father Blackwood believed him to be was his son Judas Blackwood. There really isn't much notable about the young warlock. He possesses the abilities much as the rest of them, but we don't really get to see much of him doing anything ability wise. Some notable members of The Judas Society were Faustus Blackwood, Luke Chalfant, Ambrose Spellman (though brief), Marcus Pierce, Dario and many unnamed warlocks.

Disbanding of The Judas Society

After Faustus poisoned the members of the Church of Night he fled and formed his own church called the Pilgrims of the Night Church. With him feeling like he did, he not only abandoned the Church of Night but he decided to abandon worshiping Satan and instead chose to worship the Eldritch Terrors.
